Portfolio Marek Cierniewski

Born in 1951. An artist and drawer. He graduated at Adam Mickiewicz University and
Academy of Agriculture in Poznań (Faculty of Forestry) 1975.
His artistic career started in 1978. He became a member of ZPAP in 1982. Presently he is a
member of WIELKOPOLSKA, the Association of Polish Artists and Graphics. He received several
prices and got a scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and Art in 1983, a scholarship of the
City of Poznań for young artists in 1986 and 1987 and a scholarship of the Austrian Culture Centre in 1982
So far he has had 40 individual exhibitions and took part in 62 group presentations in Poland and in
galleries in Budapest, Vienna, Berlin and Hamburg.
The most important are:

- 1985 - Desa, Poznań;
- 1993 - ABC Gallery, Poznań;
- 1997 - Art Gallery, Poznań;
- 1991/99 - Ośrodek Kultury Austriackiej (8 exhibitions);
- 2000 - Międzynarodowe Targi Książki, Warsaw;
- 2003 - „In the shadow of the synagogue", Kostrzyn.

The artist's works are in private and state collections of many countries.
